Film Cliche - Romance

Romantic feels appeal to women allot more than men, this is because women can relate to the different characters and events in the film and this makes them feel involved and connected in the film, the happy cliche moments therefore make them feel good and keeps the audiences attention. Usually romantic films will be predictable but this does not matter as the target audience enjoy the cliche moments.

There are many will they wont they moments in the film and this keeps the audience interested in on the edge of their seats. Although in the end everything usually turns out well and everyone lives happily ever after because after all this is what the audience wants to see and believe. The people in the film who seem unhelpful and useless usually turn things around towards the end where the give fantastic advice in a moment of need.

The guy usually falls for the girl who initially he finds annoying. Dramatic irony plays a big part in romantic films as it makes the audience feel more involved.

A romantic film would not be the same without a pushy mother and subordinate father, and in many films there may also be a gay best friend.
