Analysis of Film Trailers - Ted

The genre of the film is comedy/fantasy. As a result of a childhood wish a teddy bear comes to life, the film shows the problems and difference that occur when both the boy and bear grow up. the unique selling point of the film is that it is the first motion picture created by the creator of family guy. family guy already has a following and large audience therefore they will be interested in seing the film. its main arget audience is teenagers and the film is rated at 15+. although this film will most likely appeal to adults aswell as it has adult humour in throughout the film. the music starts by conforming to the fantasy genre, there is magical childhood style music as you see a little boy and his teddy bear. there is a jump cut to the future where you see them both grown up, there is no longer magical music but instead a slightly irritating tune, this conforms with the comical side of the film as the music represtents the change in his life from a young boy to adult. There are allot of two shots and over the shoulder shots throughout the film between the teddy bear and the man, this shows their strong relationship and shows the audience the strong connection between the two. there are lots of close ups of the annimated teddy bear as it speaks this would impress the audience and make people want to see it more, its also very comical and conforms to the genre. there are high and low angle shots as the teddy bear is being spoken to this gives him a vulnerable reputation which clashes with some of the things he says and does, this again conforms to the genre of the film. the pace of the trailer is fast and slow depending on the moment in the film, the happy, funny moments are faced paced where the touching moments between the bear and the man are slower paced. there is allot of dialogue so that the trailer can include some of its best punch lines, this wil make the audience laugh and make them more excited and willing to see the film. there is a voiceover of a deep voice, this is usually used in chilhood fantasy films and this puts and interesting and comical spin on the film, this will also make the audience more intreged by the film and therefore want to go and see it. the main special effect is the animation of the bear which is very life like, this would impress the veiwer and more people will want to see the film. there are some fades to black after comical moments, this cuts of at points so the audience wonders what happened next and therefore want to go and see the film to find out. there are intertitles that say 'this summer' and 'the creator of family guy' this will further excite the audience and tells them when they weill be able to see the film so they dont forget.
