sound track and sound effects research - action trailers

TAKEN



the music in taken starts very slow and draws the audience in. rather than having the music as the main focus there are sounds effects used when the shot changes and before and after fade to blacks. we will use this in our trailer. similar to the idea we had for our trailer there is a phone conversation that takes up allot of the trailer, therefore the music is in the background and only builds up towards the end when the pace of the trailer increases. this is very effective and builds allot of suspense for the audience, therefore this is something that we will do. the music changes in the clip and there is a piano that plays while there is a conversation, this is slow and then becomes faster at the end of the conversation. we could create our own music and do the same as well as using copyright music and sounds effects for the other half of our trailer that does not have a phone conversation.


THE AVENGERS

at the beginning of the clip there are sounds effects used when the shots change, this is something that we will use. the music then begins and its starts of with drum beats that build suspense, this then becomes faster when the trailer picks up pace. there is a small part in the middle when the pace of the trailer becomes slower and the music stop, it then quickly picks up pace and the music is fast and builds tension. the music continues to pick up pace through out the trailer.



IRON MAN 3 TRAILER

similar to the avengers the music in this starts very slow but builds tension for the audience, the music then cuts out as titles appear on the screen, it then quickly changes the pace of the trailer with lots of jump cuts and fades to black, the music suits this well as it is fast paced and more dramatic, this grabs the audience attention and this is something that we will do in our trailer.



MAN OF STEEL

the music starts of very slow and calming but the audience knows that it will soon change and this builds allot of tension. the music continues to be slow as the clip is slow paced, it then becomes more dramatic and the pace of the trailer starts to build up, the music then increases in pace and becomes very dramatic. the music in this trailer is very uplifting and this would not suit our trailer as we want the audience to feel more scared and worried about what is happening.
